Denaploy was appointed by Kier Construction to provide a
state-of-the-art O&M manual for the construction of an 80-bed hospital unit
that would complete the Three Bridges Medium Secure Campus at St Bernard's
Hospital.
The 18-month timeframe for the build of what is now Thames
Lodge was undertaken throughout 2014-15 and included specialist fittings and
security interfaces, with some equipment provided directly by the hospital.
Collating all the materials coming from dozens of
sub-contractors, Denaploy was able to incorporate every item into the one
manual with a consistent navigation and feel. The next step is another project
on the same site and a common interface that enables the FM team to access both
projects through the Rapid Intelligent Document Retrieval (RIDR) System created
by Denaploy that enables instant access to all documentation through a single
browser search interface.
While the
paper version of the O&M manual for this project comprises 16 large lever
arch files, users prefer to access the digital version. The digital manual can
be kept on the hospital's main network so is accessible by anybody who needs
it. It comprises 6GB of data, made up from 3,771 documents organised into 300
separate folders.
In 2018, due
to the success of the first O&M manual, Denaploy was again engaged by Kier for
a second O&M manual project at St Bernard's for the refurbishment of Medway
Lodge, adjacent to the Three Bridges Campus.
